Pére Lachaise - Jim Morrison's grave
Happy new year to all of you guys, wish all the best in the year to come.
My brother, Hilman, comes from Indonesia to spend his school holiday in my place. He changes a bit (at least for me, since we don't see each other for 2 years ...... now he's so thin !!!, oh la la , I've to stock a lot of food in my "Frigo"). Not like any other guys who come to Paris, his first wish is to see his idol's grave, Jim Morrison. Do you know who he is ? If you come from my generation his songs with the doors were so popular, but not the original one .... it was mixed to be a disco music. Do you remember ? Fire Discotic in Sogo when the DJ played the danceble music and put "Come On Baby Light My Fire" or "Break on through" in the middle. Jim Morrison
Que la mort a été provoquée par un arrêt cardiaque (mort naturelle), signé par dr Max Vassille, 3 Juillet 1971. It was the summary in the end of his medical report. Heart attact brings the doors's lead vocal to die in his bath tub of the apartement where he live with his girlfriend Pamela. Police and medical team said that he died naturally and peaceful, but the outside rumor's different. As one of the 60 (flower)'s generation icon, Jim was so close to drug, did it cause his death? Well, why don't we just let him rest in peace down there!
'Cause outside his negative side, Jim has given a color to his generation's music and life style, especially with his song lyric. The other good thing is Jim obtained his master's degree in cinema from UCLA. Yes, he's UCLA film school's most famous alumnus who never makes a real film ...... but he got his degree anyway :) Pére Lachaise
The photo up there, is taken in 20th years celebration of Jim's death. It was so crazy, you can see it more here, a lot of people got drunk and gathered until outside of the cimetery as there was no more place in side. Crazy, but by the way, it becomes a popular grave where many young people come to put theire letter and flowers or just to get some inspiration from Jim Morrison. When we were there, it was so cold (-2° C and snowy), but it was full anyway! If you live or come to Paris, this cimetery is worth it. The architectur's beautiful and there're any other famous people, such as Frédéric Chopin, Edith Piaf, Simone Signoret, Yves Montand etc. You can stop in Pére Lachaise metro station (line 2 or 3) and there you are ...... | |
